Week 1 Cont.

  • Our first object is shin guards used to protect your shins when you play soccer.
  • Our next object is a bottle opener used to open bottles.
  • Cupholder used to put your mug or cup into.

We chose the shin guard because we thought it would be the most practical. It will firm and sturdy and will help a soccer player for protection. This would be very practical because it is not an object that has a lot of parts to it. It is not too complicated to make, and when you make a 3D print of a shin guard, it will be simple, and sturdy, and more useful than other objects. It is also practical because it does not need straps or anything to stay on your leg, it will just slide into your sock. It is just one solid object.

  1. You did not really compare your designs in detail. Video is nice, try to embed it into the blog so we can click it to watch rather than copying and pasting the link.

  2. Great job! Next time maybe try explaining more in detail your ideas and why you didn't chose them and why you ended up choosing the one you did.

  3. I like the shin guard idea and think its very practical, maybe could use a little more detail as to the other designs and how they are less practical than the shin guard.

  4. I like your idea of shin pads as I think you will get a lot of use out of them. It would be good to see the inside design of the shin pads so it is clear how it would sit on the shin.

  5. I think that your descriptions need a lot more detail as well as explanation of how you came up with these ideas and why you chose them. You also might want to get rid of the Nike sign as to avoid any possible conflict, but other than that good job.

  6. As most have stated, detail would help to compare the ideas. But the shinguard idea is very original and if worked on could be very practical

  7. I think you will encounter issues with the structural integrity of this shin guard. Especially if it breaks the fractured ends could end up being counter productive.

    1. we could maybe cross the layers back and forth to make it stronger

  8. The shin guard product was a very good idea. The 3D printing material would be very good at defending against people kicking it. It is a simple yet effective design. It is also much better than the other two ideas because of its efficiency and usefulness. Good job.
